Name: Yukari Tanizaki
Better known as: Yukari
Yukari-sensei is the homeroom teacher for class three. She teaches English, but seems to enjoy taking brief sojourns into other topics, such as math and physical education. She is a loud woman, obsessed with her two favorite things: food and herself. She is prone to violent outbursts and says some very strange things in class. Yukari enjoys her job, except for the whole work part. She very much wants to be liked by her students, and, indeed, she is, despite her outbursts. She seems to be an older version of Tomo-chan, especially taking into consideration the fact that she loves to pick on Chiyo-chan.
Yukari is free-spirited when it comes to fun. She spends a lot of time with Nyamo-sensei, her best friend. Yukari has a bit of jealously when it comes to Nyamo, though (well, let's not lie, when it comes to almost anyone else receiving attention), and spends a lot of time trying to one-up her. Yukari also loves money and is a gambler, betting on many things, even her own class of students in the yearly athletics festival (hello, Pete Rose).
Overall, Yukari does ultimately teach the girls a lot, but whether any of it is English has yet to be determined.
