Osaka-san is a transfer student from the city of Osaka. Can you guess how she got her nickname? Osaka-san is a slow but sweet girl. She is poor in her schoolwork, though not as poor as some. She has a tendency to doze off in class, as well as just about any comfortable place, especially under a kotatsu. Her dreams are varied and entertaining, but she has a special fixation on Chiyo-chan's pigtails and, more specifically, the question of whether they can be removed and whether they have a life of their own.

Osaka is very sweet and cares about her friends deeply. She is not above a practical joke or an exagerration here or there, but they backfire on her more often than not. The girls view her with eyebrows raised. She seems a bit strange, but there is no doubting her heart. She is passionate and honest about her likes and dislikes and lives for the moment, even at times when she shouldn't be.

Osaka-san may not be a good student, but she is a fan of knowledge and pursues it. She has a love of trivial knowledge and a curious streak that can't be turned off. She asks questions about everything, including some questions for which not many people on the earth have thought up the answers. She is definitely not a normal person, but that is what makes her so intriguing.
