Kaorin is an average schoolgirl with a not so average admiration for her classmate Sakaki-san. She is constantly watching and admiring Sakaki-san from afar, reveling in how cool she is. Kaorin's admiration borders on the line of full-fledged crush, as she seems to be attracted to Sakaki as well.

Kaorin gets along well enough with everybody, though she gravitates toward Sakaki-san, naturally. She can become a bit frazzled and even jealous whenever someone else gets to spend quality time with the object of her affections. She agonizes over class changes, hoping she'll be back in the same class with Sakaki-san.

Unfortunately for Kaorin, she has to put up with being the object of the weird fixation of another person, the creepy Kimura-sensei. Kaorin finds herself yo-yoing from elation to disgust several times a school day having to keep it with it all. Poor girl.

Kaorin's closest friend among the girls is Chihiro, although she wishes that it was Sakaki-san.
